Where is Gateway Palace?

Located far beyond Eorzea, Gateway Palace is found through what looks to be an unassuming shack on the border between the Black Shroud and Thanalan. Once one passes through the threshold, they find themselves in a large palatial space architecturally different from anything found in Eorzea.Gateway Palace is located in another world, with culture and people far different to what you may be familiar with. Despite the astronomical distance, one can easily travel back home by way of the front door.

What is Gateway Palace?

Three hundred years ago, Gateway Palace was a simple meeting hall for a mercenary band known as the Shattered Nova. Though it was built to be isolated from other settlements, people eventually came to live around the meeting hall. The Shattered Nova traded food to the locals, in exchange they trained the locals to fight. The line began to blur between mercenary and peasant as the space was shared between both.The Shattered Nova became the Gateway Knights over time, abandoning their mercenary ways. With this change the meeting hall grew to accommodate more people, and more facilities. Now known as Gateway Palace, its doors still remain open for any traveler to visit at any time. It remains open for one and for all, no matter their status.

Who are the Gateway Knights?

Serving to aid those in need, the Gateway Knights are a loose organization that serves no one man or faction. They are encouraged to wander and seek out causes that they themselves feel are worthy.With varied skills and specialties, each Knight covets their own values and code. Though many of the Gateway Knights operate alone, those who share values often find allies to travel with, forming their own small parties.

Where is Gateway Palace?

Located on another Shard, Gateway Palace has had minimal contact with the Source up until this point. To travel to Gateway Palace, one must locate the unassuming shack located along the border of the Black Shroud and Thanalan. Passing through the threshold of the shack activates a rift between worlds that will transport anyone to and from Gateway Palace.The Shard in which Gateway Palace is located has purposefully not been given a number (to avoid issues regarding future MSQ possibilities). As is the case, the culture surrounding Gateway Palace is quite different to that of the Source. Luckily, many visitors do happen to be from the Source.

Who are the Gateway Knights?

The Gateway Knights were formed by the original members of the Shattered Nova mercenary group. Their focus is to protect and help those in need, no matter where they may be from. They serve no one man or faction, with a few guiding principles to dictate their conduct. They are strongly encouraged to wander and seek out causes that they themselves feel are worthy.Each Knight is often varied in skill, with their own specialties and abilities. Each Knight who wishes to join is expected to hold their own code and values. While Gateway Knights often wander on their own, those who share similar values often find allies to travel with, and work together in a party.Not all Gateway Knights must be from the shard in which Gateway Palace is located. Recruits are accepted from the Source and other Shards if they wish to join. Those who are accepted among the ranks of the Gateway Knights are given access to supplies as needed, and special assignments if they wish to accept them.
